Tribute To Alexander Mcqueen Fashion Show.

p/s: This will be the last post till after first term, so enjoy reading & leave a comment.

So as you know a tiny fashion show was held this last night, to honor the death of this well known fashion designer, Alexander Mcqueen. He will always be remembered for his unconventional and dramatic designs.

And no I did not go alone that night, I had a date :)
And who wouldn't guess, it's Angie, teehee! So she came by my house at around 6:30pm, I told her to bring all the floral tops she had over since I hadn't settled what I was gonna wear, and she did. But in the end, I wore my instead. With that settled, we got all glammed up, and headed downstairs for a rushed dinner. Time was short, since we I took a hell lot of time deciding which floral top to choose. So after eating, we put on our heels and out the door we went. Did I mention it was my first time rocking my Topshop Ashish Inspired Boots? Oh yea, the night's gonna be awesome.

The show was gonna start at 8pm, and we only manage to leave the house around 7:50pm, talking about being fashionably late! We reached Laila's Cafe around 20 minutes later, I expected a really big crowd overflowing the place but all I saw was a table of maybe 5 people outside, 2-3 couples inside, 1 loner outside, and US, Ohman. We wanted to sit inside, but all of the tables stated "RESERVED". So we had no choice but to sit outside. With a blazer on in the weather of Malaysia, you sure ought to break a sweat. We got curious and wondered "Why so few people wan? Are we in the right place?" So we asked the waiter when was the fashion show gonna start. Waiter replies:" 9:30pm la miss."

Dayem boy! And we thought we were late. So an hour flies by and still none showed up. Since it was passed the time limit for one who'd reserved the tables, we got invited in to sit! :D Then, the fashion show started not to long after that. The night went on with 2 local fashion designers showcasing their beautiful pieces, and of course modeled by local models too.

Just look at that train! *sweep floor sweep floor*

Through the night, we got interviewed by Msn Life & Style, Lydia Kwan. She asked a few questions about where we got our clothes from and what do we miss most about Alexander Mcqueen. She even took a couple of styleshots of us.

The night ended pretty fast, didn't stay for the discussion since time was short, and we had to get home early. Rainbow is cute, bye! what a way to end this post.

30 Seconds To Mars - This Is War Album.

1. Escape
2. Night of the Hunter
3. Kings and Queens
4. This is War
5. 100 Suns
6. Hurricane [feat. Kanye West]
7. Closer to the Edge
8. Vox Populi
9. Search & Destroy
10. Alibi
11. Strangers in a Strange Land
12. L490

This album is impressive. Nuff said. My personal favorite would have to be 100 Suns which is the bit ending of the This Is War track and Hurricane featuring Kanye West. From Jared Leto's hushed voice to his piercing voice, it goes on and on from strength to strength. Magnificent.

"And for those wondering how 30 Seconds to Mars and Kanye West sound on the same song, I’ll just mention that “Hurricane” is as near flawless a song as I have heard all year long. Neither West nor Leto take away from the other and in fact they compliment each other almost perfectly, Kanye’s verse being one of the album’s many, many highlights." - 411mania.com

YES. YES AND YES.

"On the track This is War, however, Leto is assisted on vocals by a backing group that consists of hundreds of the band’s fans who attended a special album preview and were recorded for use on the album earlier in the year. This massive backing choir comes into play and many of the album’s tracks and more often than not only serves to make the songs sound even more impressive than they already are. This is a band that has always done a lot for its fans but this is taking it to another level, actually including them in the recording of the album. The band also ran a competition that allowed 2,000 fans to have their photos used as the record’s album art. Pretty cool." - 411mania.com

If you'd notice, my header is currently a verse from Hurricane. And you can see my footer if you scrolled all the way to the bottom would be a verse from 100 Suns, beautiful song.

[EDIT]
Oh one more thing, I still can't figure out a verse in the track Hurricane, is it "This hurricane is  chasing us all underground" OR "This hurricane is chasing us all out to cry"? Lyrics from online sources said its the first one. But from what I hear is the second one. Hmm. Jared Leto, what is it?!

1 Of A Kind

Hey there.
My internet was down for 2 whole weeks, and so I apologize for the lack of updates.
Alright moving on,  remember what my next craft project was?

It was to recreate one of these necklaces by 1 o.a.k.
And using the tools and beads my Aunt lent me,
... ...
taada!

I wore it to tuition the other day, received quite a few compliments on it. And so...
Here's a guide on how to make one of your very own :)

You can always try experimenting with other kinds of beads.

After the 1 month long wait, my Ashish Topshop inspired booties are here! Got them in the mail after I got home from school last Monday.

Measuring at a height of 13cm, complete with a pleather surface and comfy insoles,
this shoe is definitely worth every cent. Ah, I'm still mesmerized by its beauty x.x
How bout a leopard print one? O:

aren't these the coolest pair of leggings you've ever seen? =D
